While working on Assignent 5, I learned how to create buttons and turn on nonlinear navigation. These are skills that I didn’t even know were possible on PowerPoint. While doing this assignment, I liked how I had a lot of free range. It allowed me to explore different things and tools on Powerpoint. One thing I did not like was how tedious it was to create a Jeopardy Game. A lot of things came into play when creating all the different buttons. I definitely can improve on the transitions because I just did the same transition for every slide on this assignment.       When teaching lower elementary school, I feel like I would use data collection tools to get to know my students more. A lot of teachers give their students information forms on the first week of school. I think using a data collection tool could be fun for the kids while also still allowing me to see different things about the students i.e how many siblings they have, how many pets they have, etc. ...

The only time I experienced distance learning was during Covid times. During Covid, we mainly used Zoom and Google Classroom. I honestly really liked Zoom because it allowed me to see my teacher’s face during the lesson. I found out that I learn better when I can actually see the teacher and not just their voice. Other than these two websites, I haven’t really experienced any others. I think there have been a lot of new technologies to come out since Covid. I would like to experience all of these new technologies.       Open Educational Resources are resources that you can find online. “Open” means that everybody can access and use these resources. I think Open Educational Resources are great resources for teachers. One example I found that is an OER is the Merlot Collection. This website gives everybody access to over 35,000 different course materials. This can be helpful for teachers when they need students in their class to read somethin...

I learned a lot doing the Web Design assignment. I have never made a website before, so everything I did was pretty much learned. When making my website, I made sure I used the CRAP method. One big thing I used was repetition. I made sure that all of my headings and text were in the same font and style on each different page. Overall, I really liked this assignment, but I didn't really like Weebly. There were some things that I wasn’t able to do or edit that would have made my website look better. I think these website design skills will help when working on things other than websites. I think the CRAP rules can help when making presentations, newsletters, and websites. You could use QR codes to send students to a practice quiz that asks questions about the lesson they just learned. This would also be beneficial for the teacher because they would be able to see what the students need more help on. You could also use QR codes to send students to an online classroom library. This w...

I think teacher pages on a school website can be very helpful for the parents. Teachers post information about themselves and about their class. Some teachers even add links to the resources the parents will need to buy for the class. I really like that a lot of the teachers I saw included what wouldn’t be taught in the class and what students that were learning online would need to do. Here is the link to the website I primarily looked at: https://www.leonschools.net/domain/1574 .      I can see myself using technology to communicate with parents and effectively put grades into the system so parents can see. I think creating a newsletter each month and sending it to the parents is a great way to quickly and easily tell them what is going on during the month. I can definitely see myself using Kahoot or EdPuzzle. Kahoot is a great way to help your kids practice for a test while making it fun. I like Edpuzzles because it splays the video, but you can add questions fo...

Personally, I really like blogging. I think it is a good way to write down your thoughts and share them with other people. I also think blogging is very beneficial to help others learn about different ideas. I like that blogging gives me a specific place to write down my feelings and opinions about certain things. So far, I have learned that blogging actually takes some time. For some reason, I thought blogging was just something quick and easy, but after seeing how many different ways you can set up a blog page, I realized that it can actually be kind of difficult. One Web 2.0 tool that I think can be useful is a website called Animoto. Animoto is a website that allows teachers to easily make videos. This can be used when trying to make video lectures or recording a lesson for a student that is absent. Animoto has many different tools to help make good videos. Animoto provides teachers with different songs they can use in their videos and also templates or storyboards. One downside ...

I have recently found using Pinterest and Instagram to be very helpful. Pinterest is a good place to find ideas about any topic. I have mainly been looking at different classroom decorations, but I have also found it very helpful when looking for different worksheets. On Instagram, I have been following many different teachers. These teachers post about different activities their class did and give advice as well. I think both of these platforms will be very helpful in the future when I am preparing my classroom and lesson plans.      Growing up, I believe I went to a pretty digitally rich school. In elementary school, we were able to go to the computer lab once a week to have typing lessons, general computer information lessons, and even play educational games. We were also provided with chrome books in our classroom, so I think navigating these chrome books helped me prepare for using a laptop in college. I also think the typing l...
