I think teacher pages on a school website can be very helpful for the parents. Teachers post information about themselves and about their class. Some teachers even add links to the resources the parents will need to buy for the class. I really like that a lot of the teachers I saw included what wouldn’t be taught in the class and what students that were learning online would need to do. Here is the link to the website I primarily looked at: https://www.leonschools.net/domain/1574 .      I can see myself using technology to communicate with parents and effectively put grades into the system so parents can see. I think creating a newsletter each month and sending it to the parents is a great way to quickly and easily tell them what is going on during the month. I can definitely see myself using Kahoot or EdPuzzle. Kahoot is a great way to help your kids practice for a test while making it fun. I like Edpuzzles because it splays the video, but you can add questions fo...

Personally, I really like blogging. I think it is a good way to write down your thoughts and share them with other people. I also think blogging is very beneficial to help others learn about different ideas. I like that blogging gives me a specific place to write down my feelings and opinions about certain things. So far, I have learned that blogging actually takes some time. For some reason, I thought blogging was just something quick and easy, but after seeing how many different ways you can set up a blog page, I realized that it can actually be kind of difficult. One Web 2.0 tool that I think can be useful is a website called Animoto. Animoto is a website that allows teachers to easily make videos. This can be used when trying to make video lectures or recording a lesson for a student that is absent. Animoto has many different tools to help make good videos. Animoto provides teachers with different songs they can use in their videos and also templates or storyboards. One downside ...

I have recently found using Pinterest and Instagram to be very helpful. Pinterest is a good place to find ideas about any topic. I have mainly been looking at different classroom decorations, but I have also found it very helpful when looking for different worksheets. On Instagram, I have been following many different teachers. These teachers post about different activities their class did and give advice as well. I think both of these platforms will be very helpful in the future when I am preparing my classroom and lesson plans.      Growing up, I believe I went to a pretty digitally rich school. In elementary school, we were able to go to the computer lab once a week to have typing lessons, general computer information lessons, and even play educational games. We were also provided with chrome books in our classroom, so I think navigating these chrome books helped me prepare for using a laptop in college. I also think the typing l...

A standard that stood out to me was “Demonstrate the use of healthy digital habits”. This is a standard that is going to be taught to 3rd graders. From my understanding, this standard will teach students when they should use technology and how many hours they should spend online. I think it is important for kids to learn at a young age how much time online is reasonable. We often see young kids spend hours on social media or watching videos. Teaching the students how this can be harmful and suggesting other ways to spend their time is important. I do feel like I am prepared to implement this standard because it is something my parents always talked to me about. I feel like I am well educated when it comes to the effects of being on an electronic device for hours or mindlessly scrolling. I selected a 3rd grade mathematics course standard. The standard I selected gave me seven different lesson plans and one video. This website can be really helpful for teachers. When a teacher is struggl...
